Digital nomads – resource and risk

Breakfast webinar - Digital nomads – resource and risk

Wednesday 11th December kl 8:00-9:00

Place: Livestream on MS Teams

“Workation” is a term already well established in the vocabulary worldwide. Digital working environments provide the possibility to work from anywhere, providing the possibility to combine work with leisure activities anywhere in the world.
Norway is an attractive destination for employees seeking to combine working from anywhere with great nature and sport experiences. Some villages in Norway are now also offering grants, financing a stay in Norway of 1-3 months, which may make Norway even more attractive for employees who can work from anywhere. However, this opportunity also comes with obligations and possible risks for the employer that should be assessed prior to the travel. Registration and reporting requirements and tax risks are some of the concerns and may lead to increased compliance costs.

In this 1 hour webinar we provide an overview of relevant issues for employers with employees wanting to work from Norway.

  • General overview of relevant issues:
    • Work and residence permit
    • Membership in national social security schemes
    • Labour law
    • VAT
  • Tax related issues for the employer
    • Registration obligations
    • Reporting obligations
    • Corporate income tax – permanent establishment
  • Tax related issues for the employee
    • Registration obligations
    • Tax liability
    • Salary reporting
